Artist's Description

This building is all that remains of Mayer's Foods located in Celina, Texas. Mayer's collected many a one dollar bill from me as a kid, when I would walk to town to buy an ice cream and a balsa wood airplane. The days of the mom and pop grocery are fast becoming a fading memory in the shadows of the big box store chains. The big stores have a lot to offer, but will never have the charm and sense of community of the home town market.
